Health and Safety

Working in confined spaces is inherently dangerous and must be carried out by a qualified team comprised of:

• The Entrant, who is authorised to enter the confined space.
• The Attendant, who provides support and carries out his duties outside the confined space, and
• The Entry Supervisor, who determines the acceptable entry conditions, authorises the entry, oversees entry operations, terminates the entry and cancels the entry permit.

PETROTEKNO's training will ensure each team member understands and performs their respective duties to mantain a high degree of safety. PETROTEKNO's training will also ensure the team has the capability to respond quickly and appropriately to the various hazards that exist in the dangerous environment of confined spaces.

Standard instructions and procedures are usually adequate for most work activities in a facility, but extra care is required for more complex operations. Control of Work (CoW) is the integrated management of business critical to operation, maintenance and engineering activities, and consists of hazard identification and risk assessment, Permit to Work and isolation management. The objective of CoW is to provide a consistent safe system.

Since each company has its own set of Control of Work procedures, PETROTEKNO will work with the client to incorporate their procedures into practical training scenarios built around Petrotekno's process operations training facility.
